Enhanced whiteboard control for Adobe Connect

Does granting Enhanced Participant Rights give unintended control to your attendees?

The primary disadvantage of granting Participants ‘Enhanced Participant Rights’ in an Adobe Connect Meeting Room is that Participants are then able to close pods, stop sharing, advance PowerPoint/Presenter slides while in sync mode, and clear the contributions of others users on whiteboard overlays. This can cause a great deal of confusion while presenting to large numbers of Participants in situations in which the Host or Presenter would like Participants to use the Whiteboard overlay. Whiteboard Pro limits these rights for Participants.

Features include:

  • If a Host turns on the whiteboard overlay feature on any pod, Participants will be able to use the whiteboard tool but will not be able to use the ‘Clear’ button to erase the entire whiteboard. They can only undo/redo their own contributions.
  • Participants will not be able to click on any of the slide navigation controls while a pod is in sync mode. Notice that the slide navigation controls on the Participant view below are greyed out. If a meeting Host unsyncs a pod, Participants will then be able to use the slide navigation controls.
  • Meeting Hosts will be able to see that all Participants have Enhanced Participant Rights by viewing the share status icon in the Attendee pod.
  • Participants will not be able to click on any of the pod control buttons in the bottom of each pod. Notice in the Participant screenshot below that the pod control buttons are greyed out.
